(Writer : Dessy Ariadna – Stand To JESUS)
Galatians 5:4 (IMB) Christ has no effect on you because you seek to be justified through the law. You live beyond grace.
Galatians 5:4 (ESV) You are separated from Christ, if you hope for righteousness through the law; you live outside of grace.
For those of you who today still think negatively about the gospel of grace and think that the salvation you receive is the result of your efforts and your actions, and not because of God’s gift because of your faith in JESUS Christ. So this article is addressed to you.
Grace is the law of the New Testament, we are saved because of grace and not the result of our efforts, if humans could be saved because of their own efforts, then humans would not need a Messiah and JESUS Christ would not need to come into the world to die for We all.
But precisely because humans are helpless because of sin and because humans have all fallen into sin and humans are unable to save themselves, JESUS had to come down to earth to save us, He sacrificed Himself, so that every one of us who believes in Him not perish because of sin, but have eternal life.
Ephesians 2:5 (IMB) Even when we were dead in trespasses, He made us alive with Christ. By grace, you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (IMB) By grace you have been saved through faith, not by yourselves, but by the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
Maybe you say grace (grace) if it is preached will make people free to sin and live as they please. Is that right? The truth is no! The Bible says we are dead to sin, how can we still live in it? Pay attention to the following verses :
Romans 6:1-6 (IMB) So what shall we say? Are we going to continue sinning so that grace continues to increase? Certainly not. We have died to sin, how can we still live in it? Or do you not know that all who have been baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. For, if we were conformed to His death, so shall we be conformed to His resurrection. We know that our old self has been crucified with Him, so that our body of sin loses its power, so that we are no longer slaves to sin.
When we live under grace we have the power to reject sin and all its actions, so that we are no longer slaves to sin and the devil can no longer play tricks on us. So who says that people who live under grace are free to sin and live as they please? That’s a thought that is completely contrary to God’s word.
Romans 6:14 (IMB) Sin will have no power over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6:15-18 (IMB) So what? Can we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not. Don’t you know that to whom you submit yourself to obey as a slave, you are a slave to the one you obey, whether it is sin that leads to death or obedience that leads to righteousness? However, thank God that you, who have been slaves to sin, have now obeyed with all your heart the true teaching that has been given to you. Having been freed from sin, you were made slaves of righteousness.
I know some of you are asking, do people who live under grace no longer need to do good because they have been saved not based on works but based on faith in JESUS? My answer is that people who live under grace will be encouraged and enabled by the Holy Spirit to do many good deeds that please God, not only so that we can be saved, because we are already saved, these deeds What we do is a form of gratitude and thanks to God for saving us.
Philippians 2:12-13 (IMB) Therefore, my beloved, as you always obey, not only when I am present, but even more so when I am absent, work out the salvation that you have with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you, both the will and the ability to act, to please Him.
Titus 2:11-12 (IMB) For, God’s grace that saves everyone has already appeared. This gift educates us to abandon wickedness and worldly desires, to live wisely, justly and piously in this present time.
Titus 2:13-14 (IMB) We await the fulfillment of our blessed hope and the revelation of the glory of the Almighty God and JESUS Christ, our Savior, who sacrificed Himself for us, to redeem us from all evil and to sanctify for Himself His own people, diligent in doing good.
So you still think that grace, which is the law of the New Testament, is dangerous to teach?
