The Abelis Sect is a heretical sect founded by Brian L. Brunt, a former adherent of the Mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saint). Brian L. Brunt created his own doctrine known as Abelism, where Brian L. Brunt boldly stated that the descendant who was intended by God to crush the snake’s head and the snake to crush his heel was Abel, the son of Adam and Eve.
Brian L. Brunt claimed that Abel had crushed the head of the demonic serpent (Cain was thought to be the human incarnation of the demonic serpent who had deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden) by making his offering accepted by God while Cain’s offering was rejected. And Cain (the snake incarnate) had bruised Abel’s heel by killing Abel.
Of course, this kind of stupid doctrine cannot simply be considered true, especially since this doctrine was created by a former Mormon who we already know for ourselves that Mormons really demean JESUS Christ by calling Him Lucifer’s sibling. Let’s explore the truth in detail.
Genesis 3:15 (IMB) I will put enmity between you and this woman, between your descendants and her descendants. He will crush your head and you will crush his heel. ”
Hebrews 12:24 (NIV) to JESUS the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
Genesis chapter 3:15 YAHWEH mentions “the descendants of this woman”, it does not mention “the descendants of these (Adam and Eve)”, but only the descendants of a woman. Abel was born from the seed of Adam, while Jesus Christ was born without the seed of a man because Mary, the mother of JESUS, became pregnant after the Holy Spirit came upon her.
The book of Hebrews even records that the blood of JESUS spoke more powerfully (about better things) than the blood of Abel. What was Abel’s blood really crying out for? What makes it different from the blood of JESUS?
Genesis 4:10-11 (IMB) He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now, you are cursed and exiled from this land, namely the land that has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
The blood of Abel shouted curse, judgment and damnation against Cain, while the blood of JESUS Christ shouted forgiveness, redemption and eternal life.
Brian L. Brunt stated that Abel, son of Adam and Eve, was the true Messiah, but Biblical evidence states that JESUS Christ was the true Messiah. The meaning of Messiah / Messiah itself in Hebrew is YAHWEH the Anointed One. The name JESUS (YESHUA) means YAHWEH who saves, while the name Abel (Abel) in Hebrew itself means Breath or Vapor.
Abel’s death had no impact on human salvation, while JESUS’ death on the cross had a major impact on human salvation. Abel did not rise after experiencing death, he had to wait until the day of resurrection to be able to live again and wear a glorified body that cannot die, whereas JESUS Christ rose from the dead and death could not restrain Him. If Abel was really the Messiah as Brian L. Brunt claimed, then Abel would have risen after experiencing death, because the prophecies in the Old Testament said that the Messiah would rise after experiencing death. However, Abel did not rise after death, Brian L. Brunt’s claim that Abel was the Messiah has been refuted in this case.
Brian L. Brunt is part of the lost people and also the false prophets who were prophesied by JESUS Christ. Before Brian L. Brunt emerged there were already people from two particular groups who had the same understanding and thoughts as Brian L. Brunt had, the first group stated that Cain was a descendant of the one who crushed the head of the serpent, and this group formed the very Cainite sect. praising Cain, son of Adam, the second group is the group who say that Abel is the descendant of God in the Garden of Eden who will crush the head of the serpent and they can now be categorized as part of the Habelis sect because they really praise Abel, son of Adam.
This is where the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and correct understanding of the Bible is important, because only with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and having a correct understanding of the Bible, will God’s congregation avoid heretical and false doctrines that are not in accordance with what is written in the Bible.
Matthew 7:15-18 (IMB) “But beware of false prophets who come to you; they are clothed in sheep’s wool, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will know them. Has anyone ever plucked grapes from a thornbush, or figs from a thorn tree? So, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
