Titus 2:11-12 (IMB) For, God’s grace that saves everyone has already appeared. This gift educates us to abandon wickedness and worldly desires, to live wisely, justly and piously in this present time.
Many people misunderstand grace. So there are certain groups who think that people who live under God’s grace will live sinfully and will not know the truth. Such an opinion clearly contradicts God’s own words contained in Titus 2:11-12.
The truth is that God’s grace actually educates us to abandon wickedness and worldly desires. Not only that, His grace guides us to live in wisdom, justice and piety.
Romans 6:14-15 (IMB) Sin will have no power over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace. Then, how? Can we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not.
People who truly live under God’s gift/grace will realize how valuable Christ’s sacrifice was for redeeming him on the cross, so that he will never play around with his life. The Holy Spirit himself will guide people who live under grace to live according to God’s path.
Only people who don’t understand grace will live as I wish, because they don’t understand the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross at all.
Romans 6:1-2 (IMB) So what shall we say? Are we going to continue sinning so that grace continues to increase? Certainly not. We have died to sin, how can we still live in it?
Romans 6:15-16 (IMB) So what? Can we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not. Don’t you know that to whom you submit yourself to obey as a slave, you are a slave to the one you obey, whether it is sin that leads to death or obedience that leads to righteousness?
